Plein Air Landscape Painting Workshop with Phyllis Shafer

Saturday October 10

8:00 AM  –  4:00 PM

Saturday, October 10 / 8 am - 4 pm

Explore the excitement and challenges of painting our local landscape “en plein air” with artist, Phyllis Shafer. Shafer, a Tahoe-based artist, whose work is featured in the museum’s exhibition “Tahoe a Visual History” will conduct a one-day workshop in the basics of landscape oil painting. Emphasis will include interpreting and distorting the landscape for expressive purposes. Paint not only what you see, but also your personal connection to nature. Note: Class will meet initially in the E.L. Cord Museum School and will then move to an off-site outdoor location. In case of inclement weather, the entire class will be held inside the Museum School.
