Do Prehistoric Aliens Paint Their Caves?

This event is no longer on sale.

Friday February 24

12:00 PM  –  1:00 PM

There is no scientific evidence for the existence of aliens, but astronomers are increasingly finding the universe to be a habitable place.  If extraterrestrial beings do exist, how would their artwork necessarily differ from our own?  Dan Ruby will speculate on possible answers through his own experience in art making and astronomy.  Fleischmann Planetarium Director at the University of Nevada, Reno, Dan Ruby is actively involved in ongoing planetary research around extraterrestrial caves and minor planets. He is a trained as a NASA educator in heliophysics and airborne infrared astronomy, and (probably unsurprisingly) a huge sci-fi nut.

Support for the Art Bite series comes from Nevada Arts Council and Nevada Humanities.
