Bill Fox on Aboriginal Art in Spinifex Country

This event is no longer on sale.

Friday February 3

12:00 PM  –  1:00 PM

Australian Aboriginal art fulfills the desire to share knowledge and create respect both within and across Aboriginal and Settler cultures. This sharing of artistic traditions reached a high point during the 1980s when the people of the Spinifex Country sought to reclaim their lands that had been used for atomic testing by the British and Australian governments in the 1950s. Join Center for Art + Environment Director Bill Fox as he traces the historical role of art from the early 20th century through the current day art centers in rural Australia.
